Headline
An  update  is  available for the HPLC ChemStation software which
fixes two calibration related problems in revision A.02.02 of the
HPLC ChemStation software.

Situation:
The following two problems with calibrations were observed:

STARS SR# 1653-070573:
        If the Sequence Recalibration settings are set to:
 
                RetTime         : Average or Replace
                Response        : No Update

        a new level with id. "-1" is created in the calib. 
        table instead of just updating the RetTime.
         
STARS SR# B400-100412:
        Quadratic calibration point weighting does not work.
        (Weight set always to 1 == Equal)
        
Solution/Action:
The software was modified to make these functions work  properly.
This  was  done by producing a new revision of the quantification
library and the executable file.  The HPLC  ChemStation  software
now  correctly  handles  retention  time  updating  and quadratic
calibration point weighting.  The new revision is available as an
update disk and can be obtained from Product Support in  WAD  and
LFS.   The  updated  software reports a revision code of A.02.03.
In the case of customers who observe these problems  in  previous
revisions, they must first be upgraded to revision A.02.02 before
the update is applied.  

Installation:
To install the update, copy the file UPDATE.EXE from the diskette
to  the  ChemStation executable directory and run UPDATE.EXE from
the DOS-prompt.  For  HPLC  2D  ChemStation  software  G1304A  or
G1305A,  the executable directory is HPCHEM\LCEXE, while for HPLC
3D ChemStation software G1307A, G1308A or G1309A the directory is
HPCHEM\LC3DEXE.  The Update will extract new versions of HPLC.EXE
and HPQUA100.DLL.  When the update has been performed,  the  HPLC
ChemStation  should  report  it's  revision  as  A.02.03.  DO NOT
attempt to install this update on  revision  A.01.00  or  A.02.00
software!  


As this update is an interim revision,  it has not been subjected
to the same level of software testing as a full sofware  release.
Therefore,  the  division  will  only  update  customers  who are
extremely inconvenienced by  this  problem.   All  customers  who
receive the update should be upgraded to the next release when it
becomes available.
